Amaterasu
I've stated this already, but I'm planning to do a proper shrine out of this at some point. Still, a short paragraph of information won't hurt. It's basically spoiler free. ♥
 100 years ago, a wolf dubbed Shiranui fought longside Nagi to slay the beast Orochi in order to save Nami, a maiden who was going to be sacrificed to said beast. They defeat Orochi, but instead of being slain, he is sealed away. Shiranui eventually succumbed to Orochi's poison after the battle, and a statue is erected to honor the wolf. 100 years later, the seal is broken and Orochi is unleashed and curses the lands of Nippon, draining its life. A wood sprite named Sakuya uses her energy to bring the soul of Amaterasu, the incarnation of Shiranui into the statue, giving it life. However, her powers has been lost and she sets out on a journey to restore both the lands of Nippon and her powers.
